Good morning, fellow travelers!

…bom dia, companheiros de viajem! Ainda nos acompanham?. Devem ter muita paciência e, gostar pelo menos um pouco, de viajar!. Quando jovens, um jornalista famoso dizia, que quando viajava descrevia tudo o que via, com olhos de jornalista!. Nós, não somos jornalistas, portanto descrevemos o que vemos com o coração, com sentimento pelas coisas que vemos, sejam lindas ou menos lindas aos nossos olhos, é aquilo que pensamos, que representam para quem observa com alguma atenção por onde passa, portanto as fotos que publicamos e os textos, são o mais próximo da linguagem comum, e daquilo que as pessoas querem ver e observar quando viajam!. (Good morning, fellow travelers!. Are they still with us?. They must have a lot of patience and, at least a little, like to travel!. When young, a famous journalist said, that when he traveled he describes everything he saw, with the eyes of a journalist!. We are not journalists, so we describe what we see with our hearts, with feelings for the things we see, whether they are beautiful or less beautiful in our eyes, it is what we think, which they represent to those who watch with some attention wherever they go, photos we publish and texts are the closest to common language, and what people want to see and observe when they travel!

…era ainda madrugada, quando deixámos o parque de RV em Carcross, rumando para leste pela estrada 8, a quem também chamam “Tagish Road”!. Sem dar-mos por nada já tínhamos passado pela povoação, pela ponte sobre o rio, que mais parece um lago e já estávamos de novo no Histórico Alaska Highway, num lugar a que chamam “Jake’s Corner”, que é muito útil ao viajante, pois tem gasolina e comida para venda! (it was still early morning, when we left the RV park in Carcross, heading east on Highway 8, which they also call “Tagish Road”! We had already passed through town, the bridge over the river, which looked like a lake, and we were back on the Historic Alaska Highway, in a place they call “Jake’s Corner,” which is very useful to the traveler, because there is gasoline and food for sale)!.

…chegámos de novo à povoação de Teslin. Já explicámos a história da povoação, quando da vinda para o Alaska, no entanto mencionamos a simpatia dos empregados do estabelecimento que vende comida e gasolina, que conhecendo os viajantes, facilitam, dizendo para encher o tanque de gasolina, encher o recipiente de café, ou comprar o que quiserem, depois pagam!. Obrigado!. (we reached the town of Teslin again. We have already explained the history of the village, when coming to Alaska, however we mention the friendliness of the establishment’s employees who sells food and gasoline, who, knowing the travelers, facilitate, telling to fill the gas tank, fill the container of coffee, or buy what they want, then pay!. …quando aqui nos encontramos de pé, no Continental Divide, sabemos que é a linha do cume, que separa as duas das maiores drenagens dos rios na América do Norte. A Estrada do Alaska, atravessa a divisão em um dos pontos mais baixos. Apenas pequenos montes de areia e cascalho, separam o rio Swift, que flui para o oeste, do rio Rancheria que flui para o leste!. (You are standing on the Continental Divide the ridge line that separates two of the largest rivers drainages in North America. The Alaska Highway crosses the divide at one of the lowest points. Only humps of sand and gravel separate the west-flowing Swift River from the east-flowing Rancheria River)!.

…ao passar pela povoação de Rancheria, parámos, pois estavam, ou treinando voo com os helicópteros, ou fazendo qualquer outro treino!.  De uma maneira ou de outra, apreciámos o espectáculo! (when passing through the village of Rancharia, we stopped, because they were either training flight with the helicopters, or doing any other training !. …estávamos próximos a deixar o Histórico Alaska Highway e, a nossa “White Fox” precisava de gasolina!. (we were about to leave the Historic Alaska Highway and our “White Fox” needed gas)!.

…um momento com alguma emoção, pois deixámos o Histórico Alaska Highway, a estrada que nos deu muitas emoções!. Viajando por esta famosa estrada, apreciámos os mais lindos cenário de natureza, sentimos frio, chuva, neve, nevoeiro, sol, tempo limpo, rios, riachos, animais selvagens no seu lugar de nascimento, aves voando por cima da nossa “White Fox”, como querendo dizer, “que fazem vocês por aqui, pelo meu espaço”?, montanhas com neve de milhares de anos, água correndo nos ribeiros, pura, que se pode beber, também tivemos algumas dificuldades, como por exemplo falta de alguns géneros de primeira necessidade, algum isolamento, viajando por horas sózinhos com a gasolina a faltar na nossa “White Fox”, mas tudo isto é parte da aventura de viajantes!. Até qualquer dia, Alaska Highway!. (a moment with some excitement as we left the Historic Alaska Highway, the road that gave us so many emotions !. Traveling on this famous road, we enjoyed the most beautiful scenery of nature, we felt cold, rain, snow, fog, sunshine, clean weather, rivers, streams, wild animals in their birthplace, birds flying over our “White Fox” , as you mean, “what do you do here for my space”? mountains with snow thousands of years old, water running in streams, pure, drinkable, we also had some difficulties, such as lack of some kinds some insulation, traveling alone for hours with gasoline missing from our “White Fox”, but all this is part of the adventure of travelers !. …Cassiar Highway (British Columbia Highway 37), concluída em 1972, é uma estrada de todas as estações, que liga a Yellowhead Highway, na Colúmbia Britânica, com a Estrada do Alaska no Yukon e, também fornece acesso às comunidades de Stewart, British Columbia e Hyder, no Alaska, via Highway 37A. A partir de agora, só mencionamos “Cassiar Highway”, como é mais conhecida, mas na verdade é o British Columbia Highway 37, e tem mais ou menos 450 milhas em toda a sua distância! (Cassiar Highway (British Columbia Highway 37), completed in 1972, is an all-season road connecting the Yellowhead Highway in British Columbia with the Alaska Highway in Yukon, and also providing access to the communities of Stewart, BC, and Hyder, Ak, via Highway 37A. As of now, we only mention “Cassiar Highway” as it is best known, but in fact it is the British Columbia Highway 37, and it has about 450 miles across its distance)!

…Jade City é um “ponto na estrada” no noroeste da Colúmbia Britânica, no Canadá, perto do Yukon, localizado na estrada 37, a oeste do lago Good Hope e perto de Cassiar, nas Montanhas Cassiar. A região em torno de Jade City é rica em serpentina (um precursor de jade), greenstone (jade look-a-likes) e Nephrite jade. A região abriga 92% do jade de nefrite do mundo. A cidade de Jade, é por estrada cerca de 24 horas ao norte da Grande Vancouver e a 1 hora ao sul da fronteira do Yukon. Jade City é uma cidade muito pequena, as duas empresas locais que operam  sazonalmente oferecem serviços rodoviários e vendem produtos de jade feitos de formações próximas da pedra!. Uma curiosidade, quando por aqui passamos, distribuiam uvas e vegetais gratuitamente, pois um camião que transportava estes produtos, teve um acidente e, parte das embalagens destes produtos, ficaram impróprios para se venderem em qualquer supermercado!. Nós aceitámos, obrigado!. (Jade City is a “spot on the road” in northwestern British Columbia, Canada, near the Yukon, located on Highway 37, west to Good hope lake and close to Cassiar, in the Cassiar Highlands. The region around Jade City is rich with serpentine (a jade precursor), greenstone (jade look-a-likes), and Nephrite jade. The region is home to 92% of the world’s nephrite jade. Jade City is by road about 24 hours north of Greater Vancouver, and 1 hour south of the Yukon border. Jade City is a very small town. The two local seasonally operated businesses offer highway services and sell jade products made from nearby formations of the stone!. A curiosity, when we pass here, distribute grapes and vegetables for free, because a truck carrying these products, had an accident and part of the packaging of these products, were unfit for sale in any supermarket!. We accepted, thank you)!.

…esta ponte sobre o Rio Stikine, é na verdade uma “obra de arte”, em toda a sua dimensão, o rio vai correndo lentamente, com água limpa e, as montanhas com neve, fazem um cenário muito difícil de encontrar!. (this bridge over the Stikine River, is actually a “work of art”, in all its size, the river runs slowly, with clean water, and the snowy mountains, make a scenario very difficult to find)!.

…constantemente apareciam letreiros avisando que os ursos andavam por aqui alimentando-se com os seus “bebés” e, era verdade!. (there are constantly signs that the bears are walking around feeding on their “babies” and it was true)!.

…as horas já iam muito avançadas, quando entramos no Yellowhead Highway 16, no sentido leste, com direcção à cidade de Prince George, pois era nessa cidade que tencionávamos mudar o óleo na nossa “White Fox”, numa oficina especializada, mas já estávamos muito cansados, procurámos um RV Parque que estivesse próximo!. (hours were already very late, as we entered Yellowhead Highway 16, eastbound toward Prince George, because it was in that town that we intended to change the oil on our “White Fox”, in a specialized workshop, but we were already very tired, we looked for an RV Park that was close)!.

…neste RV Parque, na beira de um rio, foi onde confeccionámos a nossa comida e dormimos na nossa “White Fox”!. (at this RV Park, on the edge of a river, was where we made our food and slept on our “White Fox” !.
