…hoje tivémos sorte! (today we were lucky)!.

…não, desta vez não caminhámos na Oregon Trail, nem tão pouco na Santa Fé, California, Mormon ou Appalachian Trail’s, caminhámos onde quase todos os dias dispendemos algum tempo das nossas já um pouco longas vidas!. (no, this time we did not walk on the Oregon Trail, nor on Santa Fe, California, Mormon or Appalachian Trail’s, we walked where almost every day we took some time out of our already rather long lives)!.

…sim, quase junto da nossa casa, na “Waterfront Trail”, que segue junto do canal de água salgada,  aqui, na cidade de Palm Coast, na Florida!. (yes, almost next to our house, on the “Waterfront Trail,” which follows the salt water canal here in the city of Palm Coast, Florida)!.

…o cenário é bastante agradável, passam por lá barcos em viajem, nunca sabemos qual o seu destino, mas às vezes, só por curiosidade, os nossos olhos fixam a sua bandeira, e claro, vêm de diferentes estados, até de diferentes países!. (the scenery is quite pleasant, there are boats going by, we never know what their destination is, but sometimes, just out of curiosity, our eyes set their flag, and of course, they come from different states, even from different countries)!.

…o trajecto, é rodeado de diferente vejetação, algumas árvores têm séculos de vida, ainda resistem, mas algumas vão caindo, não resistindo à fúria de algumas tempestades tropicais, que por aqui aparecem!. (the path is surrounded by different vegetation, some trees have centuries of life, still resist, but some are falling, not resisting the fury of some tropical storms, which appear here)!.

…hoje, o Alligator, apareceu, veio tomar sol, todavia quando nos aproximamos para a foto, um pelicano branco que por ali andava, emitiu um som, claro, era de aviso e, o Alligator, logo se meteu na água!. Sorry!. (Today, the Alligator appeared, came to take sun, but when we approached for the photo, a white pelican that walked around, made a sound, of course, was warning and, the Alligator, soon got into the water!. Sorry)!.

…hoje, era um dia de sorte, pois as Águias, também andavam por lá, uma estava no seu lugar da pesca, está lá quase todos os dias, é numa encruzilhada do canal, deve ser um bom local para a pesca, pois ela levanta vôo, analiza a área, desce num vôo rasante e, logo aparece com um peixe pendurado, que leva para o seu lugar preferido!. Parece-nos uma Águia Falcão Preta e Branca, que normalmente é encontrada em uma grande parte da América Tropical, lá pelo México, Argentina, Salvador, Nicarágua, Venezuela ou Guianas e, que vôa até ao sul do terrritório dos USA, gostando do clima e do ambiente, não returna, fazendo ninho e ficando por aqui, onde pode ser encontrada em áreas com lagos, rios ou costa marítima, onde exista vegetação com árvores altas!. (today, it was a lucky day, because the Eagles were also there, one was in their fishing place, it is there almost every day, it is at a crossroads of the canal, it must be a good place for fishing, because it raises flight, scans the area, descends in a fluttering flight, and then appears with a hanging fish, which leads to your favorite place. …mais à frente, quase a chegar ao final do Trail, um pouco antes de uma ponte de madeira, lá estava outra Águia, esta nunca a vimos à pesca, é raro aparecer, mas o seu lugar é ali, num pinheiro muito alto, o mais alto, para poder observar toda a área, é uma Águia Careca. A Florida, tem uma das mais densas concentrações de ninhos de Águias Carecas, nos 48 estados inferiores, com cerca de 1.500 pares de Águias com ninho. As concentrações de territórios de ninhos de Águias, são agrupadas em torno de vários sistemas significativos de lagos, rios e do litoral, em todo o estado. A Comissão de Conservação de Peixe e Vida Selvagem da Flórida tem monitorado a população de Águias Carecas com ninhos na Flórida, desde 1972!. (later on, almost at the end of the Trail, just before a wooden bridge, there was another Eagle, we never saw her fishing, it is rare to appear, but her place is there, in a very tall pine tree, the higher, to be able to observe the whole area, is an Bald Eagle. …e para terminar dizemos que, hoje tivémos sorte, vimos as Águias!. (and to finish we say that, today we were lucky, we saw the Eagles)!.
