…consideramo-nos uns previlegiados!. Porquê?. Porque entre outras, já atingimos as oito dezenas de anos de vida e…, quase sempre rodeados de uma dedicada família, assim como amigos considerados também como família, vivendo como sendo uma pessoa que nunca andou em busca do que é supérfluo e também nunca ambicionou acumular coisas e bens!.

…we consider ourselves privileged! Why?. Because among others, we have already reached eight decades of life and…, almost always surrounded by a dedicated family, as well as friends also considered as family, living as a person who has never been in search of what is superfluous and has never had ambitions accumulate things and goods!.

…e, uma das razões da frase que inicia este escrito é que dentro dos nossos amigos mais chegados, está o casal Natércia e o Jorge, que embora vivendo lá no norte também aqui têm residência de verão e, que periodicamente nos estendem convite para visitas de convívio, tornando-nos a nós, simples e comuns sobreviventes deste mundo, viver por alguns períodos com o rótulo de “cinco estrelas”!.

…and, one of the reasons for the sentence that begins this writing is that among our closest friends, there are the couple Natércia and Jorge, who, although living in the north, also have a summer residence here and who periodically extend an invitation to visits of conviviality, making us, simple and common survivors of this world, live for some periods with the label of “five stars”!.

…como tal, vamos para junto deles viver por uns dias empoleirados no Golfo do México, numa área onde dada a sua posição geográfica é o lar de algumas das praias mais pitorescas deste país, com uma costa de areia macia e branca, sendo o destino ideal não só para quem procura um dia tranquilo de banhos em águas rasas, límpidas e azuis e com ondas suaves, onde podemos avistar os golfinhos “bailando” nas ondas!. 

…as such, we are going to live with them for a few days perched in the Gulf of Mexico, in an area where, given its geographical position, it is home to some of the most picturesque beaches in this country, with a coast of soft, white sand, being the destination ideal not only for those looking for a peaceful day of swimming in shallow, clear, blue waters and gentle waves, where we can see dolphins “dancing” in the waves!.

…além de ser um maravilhoso e tranquilo paraíso, é onde as tartarugas marinhas ameaçadas de extinção frequentemente põem ovos e, os visitantes tal como nós, podem observar pássaros ameaçados de extinção fazendo ninhos e se alimentando num raro pântano de sal!.

…as well as being a wonderful and peaceful paradise, it is where endangered sea turtles often lay eggs and, visitors like us, can observe endangered birds nesting and feeding in a rare salt marsh!.

…é difícil esquecer as recordações do convívio com a Natércia e o Jorge!. A maneira gentil com nos recebem, e claro…, daquelas paragens quase sempre obrigatórias, que é o restaurante de praia, Frenchy’s Saltwater Café, onde às vezes é difícil conseguir uma mesa antes do pôr do sol, para apreciar uma vista incrível e pedir uma sopa She Crab, Rocktapus, Grouper Nuggets ou uma sanduíche de garoupa do golfo!.

…it’s hard to forget the memories of spending time with Natércia and Jorge! The kind way they welcome us, and of course… one of those almost always obligatory stops, which is the beach restaurant, Frenchy’s Saltwater Café, where it is sometimes difficult to get a table before sunset, to enjoy an incredible view and order a She Crab soup, Rocktapus, Grouper Nuggets or a gulf grouper sandwich!.

…no entanto, as nossas escolhas não terminam quando o sol se põe, que só por si é um espectáculo, ou mesmo assistir ao final da tarde à chegada do “folclore” dos barcos de pesca à doca e respectiva descarga do peixe, pois à noite abre um pequeno festival na Pier 60 e nas passadeiras que dão acesso à praia, com pequenas lojas de artesões e artistas de rua, que nos divertem com as suas habilidades e acrobacias, assim como filmes ao ar livre!.

…however, our choices do not end when the sun sets, which in itself is a spectacle, or even watching the “folklore” of fishing boats arrive at the dock at the end of the afternoon and unload the fish, as at At night a small festival opens at Pier 60 and on the walkways that give access to the beach, with small artisan shops and street artists, who entertain us with their skills and acrobatics, as well as open-air films!.

…oxalá esteja bom tempo e todos tenham saúde!.
