…felizmente mais um ano passou e continuámos por cá, vindo de novo ao norte ver a família!. É época das colheitas, assim vamos juntos festejar, confraternizando e agradecendo as ”boas colheitas”!. Porquê?. Porque “boas colheitas”, quer dizer tudo!. Alguma fartura que as colheitas nos deram, paz, saúde ou amor entre as pessoas, entre outras coisas!.

Tristes e desapontados voltaram para o navio “Mayflower”, repetindo outros desembarques por três vezez em diferentes lugares até que encontraram um lugar bonito para morar, onde havia “campos e pequenos riachos”!. Ali, finalmente todos os“peregrinos” desembarcaram do navio num local agora chamado de Plymouth Rock”!.

…pronto, este, além de poder estar mais uma vez junto da família, é o motivo porque viajámos de longa distância, tal como uns “perigrinos”, vindo ver os ninhos que no norte e nesta época do ano estão vazios, ouvindo em alguns momentos simplesmente o canto das codornizes entre os feixes de palha ou em campos que foram de colheitas, agora esperando de novo a primavera, neste dia de Acção de Graças que, indo do leste para oeste, do norte para sul, todos viajam para se encontrar com a família, abraçarem-se, sentarem-se à volta de uma mesa, saborearem o cardápio, trazendo de volta o passado, dividindo entre si um perú assado, agradecendo ao Criador, dando assim as boas-vindas a uma colheita que para nós até foi feliz, porque continuamos por cá!.

Vindos do sul, entrámos no estado de Wyoming usando diferentes estradas, onde em algumas viajávamos quase sózinhos por milhas e milhas, passando por nós de quando em quando um “motard” que levantava a mão em sinal de saudação e, quando viajam “motards”, o cenário sempre é agradável, sobretudo mostrando a natureza!.

Claro, ficou “Torre dos Demónios”, mas os Nativos Americanos, ainda lhe chamam, “Casa do Urso”, “Hospedagem do Urso”, “Tipi do Urso”, “Lar do Urso” e, os Cheyennes, os Lakotas, os Crows e os Kiowas, além destes nomes, também lhe chamam “No Alto de uma Pedra”, “Árvore de Pedra”, “Grande Chifre Cinzento” e “Chifre de Búfalo Castanho”!.

Ainda hoje, o arenito vermelho escuro e o siltstone marrom, intercalados com xisto, podem ser vistos ao longo do Rio Belle Fourche que, como já dissemos anteriormente, passa perto da sua base, cuja oxidação de minerais de ferro, causa a vermelhidão das rochas, cuja camada, é conhecida como “Formação Spearfish”!. 

(…the scenery around the “Torre dos Demônios”, is composed of sedimentary rocks, where the oldest ones, which are visible, may have originated in some shallow sea, during the “Middle Triassic” period, around 225 to 195 millions of years ago!. Even today, dark red sandstone and brown siltstone, interspersed with shale, can be seen along the Belle Fourche River which, as we said earlier, passes close to its base, whose oxidation of iron minerals causes the rocks to redden. , whose layer is known as the “Spearfish Formation”)!.

…acima desta formação, existe uma banda fina de gesso branco, chamada “Formação de Nascentes de Gypsum”, que possívelmente foi depositada durante o período “Jurássico”, talvez 195 a 136 milhões de anos atrás!.

Presumivelmente, se tivesse sido um resíduo vulcânico, com cinzas vulcânicas, fluxos de lava, detritos vulcânicos, teriam sido destruídos há muito tempo, no entanto materiais piroclásticos com a mesma idade que a “Torre dos Demónios”, foram identificados em outros lugares no estado de Wyoming!.

…o mês de novembro é o último mês da temporada de furacões do Atlântico Norte, que nos dizem que termina oficialmente no dia 30 deste mesmo mês, no entanto, a temporada deste ano registrou até ao momento 14 tempestades, com 7 delas chegando a categoria de furacão e 2 de furacão e com categoria de algo intensa!.

…havia uma neblina que ia cobrindo tudo com o seu vasto cobertor branco e engolindo todo o cenário do canal.

…era a névoa do mar que desceu ao canal!. Não havia sol e os pássaros chilreavam nas árvores, não querendo voar pelo céu cinzento!.
