…viajando para a neve!. (traveling to the snow)!.

…era ainda madrugada, quando entrámos na estrada rápida número 95, rumo ao norte, rumo à neve, que foi um fenómeno que apareceu neste ano, com alguma intensidade na costa leste dos USA!. (it was still early morning, when we entered the fast road number 95, heading north towards the snow, which was a phenomenon that appeared this year, with some intensity on the east coast of the USA)!.

…com um tráfico moderado, depressa deixámos o estado da Flórida, entrando no da Geórgia, onde também não houve qualquer dificuldade, chegando ao de Carolina do Sul, com o teremómetro do nosso carro, marcando uma temperatura de 18 graus!. (with moderate traffic, we quickly left the state of Florida, entering Georgia, where there was also no difficulty, reaching South Carolina, with the thermometer of our car, setting a temperature of 18 degrees)!.

…muito antes do estado de Carolina do Norte, já havia neve ao lado da estrada, que se prolongou durante todo o estado!. (long before the state of North Carolina, there was already snow on the side of the road, which lasted throughout the state)!.

…já no estado de Norte Carolina, parámos para encher o tanque do carro com gasolina, querendo limpar os vidros, a água estava congelada! (already in the state of North Carolina, we stopped to fill the tank of the car with gasoline, wanting to clean the windows, the water was frozen)!.

…chegámos ao estado de Virgínia, a temperatura era 24 graus, com algum vento!. (we reached the state of Virginia, the temperature was 24 degrees, with some wind)!.

…passando ao lado da cidade de Richmond, usando o desvio da estrada, onde o tráfico é mais moderado!. (passing next to the city of Richmond, using the detour of the road, where traffic is more moderate)!.

…ia ficando o final do dia, atravessando a cidade de Washington, com tráfico imenso, alguma demora, mas sempre prosseguindo, entrando no estado de Maryland já fazendo noite, onde parámos um pouco antes da cidade de Baltimore, para dormir!. (the end of the day, crossing the city of Washington, with great traffic, some delay, but always continuing, entering the state of Maryland already night, where we stopped a little before the city of Baltimore, to sleep !.

…dia 2! (Day 2)!

…existe um ponto na nossa vida, em que paramos de mentir sobre a nossa idade para nos começar a gabar dela!. Pois é mesmo isso que está a acontecer connosco, o nosso já idoso corpo, precisa de algum descanso e ser alimentado com mais frequência, dormimos bem, comendo um saboroso pequeno almoço, entrando de novo na estrada rápida 95, com as bermas da estrada a mostrar vestígios brancos!. (there is a point in our life, where we stop lying about our age to start bragging about it!. For that is what is happening to us, our already old body, needs some rest and be fed more often, we sleep well, eating a tasty breakfast, entering again fast road 95, with the roadsides to show white traces)!.

…o estado de Delaware era já ali!. (the state of Delaware was already there)!.

…onde um pouco à frente tomámos o desvio para o estado de Pennsylvania, onde entrámos na parte sul leste do estado, aqui já com mais vestígios de neve!. (where a little ahead we took the detour to the state of Pennsylvania, where we entered the south eastern part of the state, here already with more trace elements of snow)!.

…tomando o rumo norte leste, atravessámos a fronteira para o estado de New Jersey, chegando à zona do rio Delaware!. (taking the north-east course, we crossed the border into the state of New Jersey, reaching the Delaware River zone)!.

…entre montanhas, onde em algumas áreas está o rio está congelado!. (between mountains, where in some areas the river is frozen)!.

…formando cristais de gelo!. (forming ice crystals)!.

…flocos de diversos formatos, alguns congelados, num cenário diferente do que é normal ver!. (flakes of various shapes, some frozen, in a different scenery from what is normal to see)!.

…e claro, um paraíso para os fotógrafos amadores, como é o nosso caso!. (and of course, a paradise for amateur photographers, as is our case)!.

…que nesta altura, vendo este cenário, esquecemos a idade, caminhamos na neve, molhando-nos, tropeçando aqui, levantando-nos ali, procurando o melhor local para fotografar, mesmo lá em frente ao precipício, onde no menor descuido, estamos lá no fundo, talvez dentro do rio! (that at this point, seeing this scenario, we forget the age, we walk in the snow, wetting ourselves, stumbling here, getting up there, looking for the best place to photograph, right there in front of the cliff, where in the slightest carelessness, we’re deep down, maybe inside the river)!.

…antes de atravessar de novo a fronteira para o estado de Pennsylvania, andámos por ali vendo a neve, caminhando sobre ela, que é um fenómeno que se acumula sobre o solo, dependendo das condições ambientais, onde às vezes pode ser mais densa e, pode cair em zonas planas ou cobrindo precipícios íngremes, que podem provocar deslizamentos de gelo, conhecidos normalmente como “avalanches”, mas felizmente nós, não ficámos sobreterrados em nenhuma “avalanche”, pelo contrário, brincámos com a neve, caminhámos sobre ela e, por algum tempo vivemos a natureza pura, onde alguns animais, com a sua presença, nos deram um caloroso “Bem Vindos à neve”!. (before crossing again the border into the state of Pennsylvania, we walked around watching the snow, walking on it, which is a phenomenon that accumulates on the ground, depending on the environmental conditions, where it can sometimes be more dense and may fall flat or overhanging steep cliffs, which can cause glaciers, commonly known as avalanches, but fortunately we were not overwhelmed by any “avalanche”, on the contrary, we played with the snow, we walked on it and for some time we lived the pure nature, where some animals, with their presence, gave us a warm “Welcome to the snow”)!.
