…estamos em Outubro!. Em alguns dias o sol não nos visita, todavia nós, vamos procurá-lo!. Andamos por aqui, por ali, mas ele, o sol, teima em não aparecer!. (It’s October!. On some days the sun does not visit us, however we will, look for it!. We walk around here, but he, the sun, stubbornly does not show up)!.

…aqui no estado da Flórida, onde vivemos, o cenário da entrada do Rio Matanzas, que visitamos frequentemente, é sempre agradável!. Existe sempre algo que nos desperta a atenção e, se não existe sol, existem outras atracções, que admiradas com atenção, nos mostram a verdadeira natureza em quase todo o seu explendor!. (Here in the state of Florida, where we live, the scenery of the entrance to the Matanzas River, which we visit frequently, is always pleasant!. There is always something that awakens our attention and, if there is no sun, there are other attractions, which admired with attention, show us the true nature in almost all its splendor)!.

…a nossa dedicada esposa Isaura, caminhando devagar sobre a água salgada da maré baixa!. (Our devoted wife Isaura, walking slowly over the salty water of the low tide)!.

…apreciou e fotografou alguns momentos desta graciosa garça branca!. (Appreciated and photographed a few moments of this graceful white heron)!.

…que por aqui vive em comunidade!. (Who lives here in community)!.

…sabendo que pode voar, caminhar, pescar, juntar-se às suas companheiras!. (knowing that she can fly, walk, fish, join her companions)!.

…procurar uns momentos de sossego, sem que ninguém a perturbe!. (Look for a few moments of quiet, without anyone disturbing)!.

…apreciando-a, verificamos que é escultural, imponente, possui uma elegantemente plumagem, com um longo pescoço e umas pernas compridas, que a faz figurar entre os nossos pássaros mais notáveis e belos!. …têm um longo e afiado bico para apanhar peixes, rãs ou insetos grandes, enquanto avançam graciosamente através de baixios estuarinos, lagoas, pântanos ou valas!. (Have a long and sharp beak to catch fish, frogs or large insects, as they gracefully advance through estuarine shallows, ponds, swamps or ditches)!.

…esta garça branca, sabe que está a ser apreciada, mas como em geral quase todas são bastante sociais, levanta voo, não só para que a admiremos melhor, querendo-nos mostrar que além de tudo sabe voar, aproveitando para observar a sua área, se anda por ali peixe, aterrando de novo, dirigindo-se ao seu grupo, talvez avisando o que observou!. (This white heron knows that it is being appreciated, but since they are almost all very social, it raises a flight, not only to admire it better, but also to show that it knows how to fly, your area, if you walk around fish, landing again, addressing your group, perhaps warning you what you observed)!.

…aqui na Flórida é um ótimo lugar para apreciar estas bonitas aves, em especial as garças brancas, que pela sua cor são facilmente identificadas, pois outras confundem até os mais experientes!. (Here in Florida is a great place to enjoy these beautiful birds, especially the white herons, which by their color are easily identified, others confuse even the most experienced)!.

…as suas diferenças estruturais são fundamentais para a sua identificação, mas o habitat e o comportamento também são importantes, todavia, todas elas normalmente se aninham em colónias, que podem chegar a centenas, muitas vezes de várias espécies, principalmente em áreas com peixes pequenos e abundantes!.
