…a nossa dedicada esposa Isaura, companheira de vida por mais de cinco décadas, apanhou-nos nesta foto ao pôr do sol, durante as nossas caminhadas pela praia!. É um fenómeno da natureza que, no hemisfério norte, onde actualmente nos encontramos, o sol se põe a oeste, pelo menos da primavera até ao outono e, a sua hora é definida como o momento em que o sol desaparece abaixo do horizonte, tudo isto devido à rotação do nosso planeta!.

(…our dedicated wife Isaura, life partner for more than five decades, caught us in this photo at sunset, during our walks on the beach!. It is a phenomenon of nature that, in the northern hemisphere, where we are currently, the sun sets in the west, at least from spring until autumn, and its time is defined as the moment when the sun disappears below the horizon, everything this due to the rotation of our planet)!.

…ao longe vemos um distinto crepúsculo, que se vai apagando, entrando no escuro da noite, não iluminando mais o céu, tal como a nossa já um pouco longa vida, que também já é quase um crepúsculo, onde lutamos para que não desapareça no horizonte da vida, e volte sempre amanhã, nem que seja só para ver o pôr do sol por momentos, mesmo lá no horizonte, naquela ilusão de ótica, semelhante à ilusão da lua!.

(…in the distance we see a distinct twilight, which fades, entering the dark of the night, no longer illuminating the sky, just like our already a little long life, which is also almost a twilight, where we fight so that it does not disappear in the horizon of life, and always come back tomorrow, if only to watch the sunset for a moment, even there on the horizon, in that optical illusion, similar to the illusion of the moon)!.

…durante os dias da nossa vida, tivémos o previlégio de admirar milhares  e milhares de dias com aqueles lindos componentes azuis e verdes, (quando dizemos: “hoje está um lindo dia”), que ao cair da tarde são removidos quase completamente, deixando os tons de laranja e vermelho em comprimentos de onda mais longos, que podemos ver a essas horas!. 

(…during the days of our life, we had the privilege to admire thousands and thousands of days with those beautiful blue and green components, (when we say: “today is a beautiful day”), which in the evening are removed almost completely, leaving the shades of orange and red at longer wavelengths, which we can see at these hours)!.

…continuamos a adorar e respeitar a natureza!. Todavia, compreendemos que as cores do pôr-do-sol são geralmente mais brilhantes do que as cores do nascer do sol!. E porquê?. Porque entre outros fenómenos, (cinzas das erupções vulcânicas), o homem, fazendo quase tudo o que lhe dá lucro fácil, tenta destrui-la, não a respeitando, poluindo-a, contribuindo diáriamente para que o ar ao final da tarde contenha mais partículas do que o ar da manhã!.

(…we continue to adore and respect nature !. However, we understand that the colors of the sunset are generally brighter than the colors of the sunrise !. It’s because?. Because among other phenomena (ashes from volcanic eruptions), man, doing almost everything that gives him an easy profit, tries to destroy it, not respecting it, polluting it, contributing daily so that the air at the end of the afternoon contains more particles than the morning air)!.

…para nós, o pôr do sol foi sempre melhor do que o nascer do sol, pela simples razão de que o pôr do sol adicionou-nos a experiência de viver um dia inteiro e, não importa o lugar onde nos encontramos, a linguagem do pôr do sol é aquela que todos entendem, onde observar o sol a pôr-se abaixo do horizonte enquanto o céu está inundado de vermelho, claro, é sempre um momento especial!.

(…for us, the sunset was always better than the sunrise, for the simple reason that the sunset added to the experience of living a whole day and, no matter where we are, the language of the sunset is one that everyone understands, where watching the sun set below the horizon while the sky is flooded with red, of course, is always a special moment)!.

…e, a Mãe Natureza não precisa de filtro, quando há um belo pôr do sol!. Deixe os seus olhos banquetearem-se com o pôr do sol, lembrando-se sempre que a vida é preciosa!.
