…na região onde vivemos, considerada sub-tropical, os “hurricanes” ou seja, os furacões, têm a sua originem na bacia do Atlântico, que inclui o Oceano Atlântico, o Mar do Caribe ou o Golfo do México, começando em Junho, terminando lá para o fim de Novembro e, são uma força terrível e destrutiva da natureza!.

…dizem-nos que, são um sistema climático rotativo de baixa pressão que organiza tempestades, mas sem frentes, pois normalmente têm uma fronteira que separa duas massas de ar de densidades diferentes, com ventos de superfície, que podem atingir uma velocidade de 40 a 120 kilómetros por hora, ou até mais em algumas regiões, e que, ao atingir esta velocidade máxima, aí sim, são considerados furacões!.

…e, claro, quanto mais alta a sua velocidade, maior o seu potencial para causar vítimas ou danos materiais, e este ano, (estamos no final de Setembro) e já passa das duas dezenas de “hurricanes”que nos visitam!.

…esta semana, mais um por aqui passou, num dia que começou como qualquer outro!. No entanto, as gotas da chuva batiam nos vidros da janelas da casa, em mais um dia quente e tempestuoso!. Não é estranho, porque é a época dos “hurricanes” (furacões)!.

(…this week, another one passed by, on a day that started like any other!. However, the rain drops hit the windows of the house, in another hot and stormy day!. It is not strange, because it is the time of “hurricanes”)!.

…o som do vento aumentou, a chuva tornou-se tempestuosa, vimos e ouvimos fortes batidas no telhado e na parte norte da casa, sinal que a tempestade vinha do lado do mar, como tal, a água da chuva era salgada, não sendo muito recomendável para o crescimento da relva e do pequeno jardim à volta casa!.

(…the sound of the wind increased, the rain became stormy, we saw and heard loud knocks on the roof and in the northern part of the house, a sign that the storm was coming from the sea side, as such, the rainwater was salty, not very recommended for the growth of the grass and the small garden around the house)!.

…sem a poder ver, sentíamos a pressão perceptível que combinam com as rajadas do vento e a brisa que sopra no interior da casa, através da ventilação do ar que sopra vindo do sistema de ar condicionado, que equaliza a temperatura entre o exterior e o interior!.

…todavia o ruído era contínuo, daqueles ventos constantes que agora passavam mais lentamente, mudando a sua direção, de oeste para leste, mas o som era o mesmo, uivando, trazendo reflexos de destrição, avisando-nos de que nos devíamos manter dentro de casa!.

(…however the noise was continuous, from those constant winds that now passed more slowly, changing its direction, from west to east, but the sound was the same, howling, bringing reflections of destruction, warning us that we should keep inside home)!.

…pois cá fora, o território era seu, pois eles, o vento e a tempestade, eram o exempo de uma natureza revoltada!.

…ao outro dia, depois de pequenas reparações à volta da casa!.

(…the other day, after minor repairs around the house)!.

…onde algumas aves exóticas, vieram viver junto da nossa casa, pois o seu território estava inundado e algo destruído!.

(…where some exotic birds came to live near our house, because their territory was flooded and something destroyed)!.

…já livres dos pequenos pormenores de reparação, desejosos de ver a praia, fomos lá, fotografar a sua passagem por aqui!.

(…already free of the small details of repair, eager to see the beach, we went there, to photograph their passage here)!.

…e alguma destruição que nos deixou!.
