…uma semana depois dos ventos fortes e da água de chuva abundante que originaram algumas inundações quando rios e canais transbordaram com o escoamento da chuva e que nos prenderam à volta de casa, onde entre outras tarefas íamos limpando toda a bagunça que a tempestade IAN por aqui nos deixou!.

(…a week after the strong winds and abundant rainwater that caused some floods when rivers and canals overflowed with the rain runoff and that trapped us around the house, where among other tasks we were cleaning up all the mess that the IAN storm caused. here left us)!.

…felizmente o furacão IAN já passou!. Na nossa área as ruas estão de novo limpas, as linhas de energia estão repostas no lugar, já esquecemos o susto da vida real e afortunadamente ninguém ficou machucado e, fomos à praia de novo!. 

(…fortunately hurricane IAN has passed!. In our area the streets are clean again, the power lines are back in place, we have forgotten the real life scare and luckily no one was hurt and we went to the beach again)!.

…agora o som era diferente, não se ouvia o bater do vento ou da chuva, ouvia-se sim, aqui e ali, o som de motosserras que cortavam em pedaços para serem removidas, algumas árvores que não resistiram à tempestade!.

(…now the sound was different, you could not hear the beat of the wind or rain, you could hear, here and there, the sound of chainsaws that cut into pieces to be removed, some trees that did not withstand the storm)!.

…e para quem duvida do poder da Mãe Natureza e não leva a sério os seus avisos climáticos, que venha ver como ficaram as dunas na praia, que eram uma barreira protectora da pequena floresta e quase desapareceram com a fúria das ondas!.

(…and for those who doubt the power of Mother Nature and do not take its weather warnings seriously, come and see how the dunes on the beach were, which were a protective barrier of the small forest and almost disappeared with the fury of the waves)!.

…e, a vegetação tropical vinda de outras paragens inundou o areal da praia, onde também se podia ver parte de embarcações, resto de madeira de passadiços, troncos de palmeiras gigantes e outras “coisas estranhas”, que vieram dar à costa!.

(…and the tropical vegetation from other places flooded the sand of the beach, where you could also see part of boats, rest of wood from walkways, trunks of giant palm trees and other “strange things”, that came to the coast)!.

…mas tudo já parece voltar à normalidade e as aves marinhas voltaram à praia, as tartarugas e os golfinhos já vêm à superfície como a querer “saudar-nos”!.

(…but everything already seems to be back to normal and the seabirds have returned to the beach, the turtles and dolphins are already coming to the surface as if to “greet us”)!.

 …a Mãe Natureza é linda e incrível, mas temos que ter por ela muito respeito antes que seja tarde demais e ela se revolte de novo!.

(…Mother Nature is beautiful and incredible, but we have to have a lot of respect for her before it is too late and she rebels again!.
