…Denali National Park and Preserve, Alaska!.

…a cidade de Fairbanks tinha ficado para trás pelo retrovisor!. Íamos rumo ao sul, agora pela “Parks Highway” (estrada #3), com bom tempo, atravessando algumas pontes sobre rios ou riachos, apreciando um cenário de alguma montanha com longas retas e curvas suaves até ao “Denali National Park and Preserve”!.

…the city of Fairbanks had been behind the rearview mirror!. We were going to the south, now for “Parks Highway” (road #3), with a good time, crossing some bridges on rivers or streams, enjoying a scenario of some mountain with long straight and soft curves to the “Denali National Park and Preserve”!.

…aqui, já em expedições anteriores tínhamos conduzido a nossa “White Fox” (caravana) até onde era autorizado no Parque Denali!. Isto era uma coisa, no entanto viajar para dentro do parque, era outra!. Porquê?. Porque a estrada que nos leva ao Parque Denali é uma das estradas mais bonitas onde provavelmente já viajamos!. Ela mergulha em algumas milhas na natureza selvagem do Alaska e…, ao conseguirmos chegar cada vez mais perto do Grande Denali, ou Monte McKinley,se preferirem, a montanha mais alta dos USA, é quase certo que vamos ter alguns encontros inesquecíveis com a vida selvagem ao longo deste caminho!.

…então porque razão não o podemos fazer na nossa “White Fox” (caravana)?. Simplesmente porque não nos é permitido!. Após as primeiras 18 ou 20 milhas, a circulação de veículos particulares é restrita!. Para além do Savage River, ou seja, para lá da pequena ponte que o atravessa, aproximadamente na milha 15 ou 16, a estrada é de terra e cascalho, e apenas camionetas aprovadas pelo parque são permitidas!.

…so why can’t we do it in our “White Fox” (caravan)?. Simply because it is not allowed!. After the first 18 or 20 miles, the circulation of private vehicles is restricted!. …como tal, vindos do norte e chegamos ao Centro de Visitas do Parque e prontos para o explorar, informaram-nos que para isso era necessário pagar pela viajem, que seria feita em camionetas do parque!. Apesar de na nossa já um pouco avançada idade todos os centavos contam, no entanto, comprámos os bilhetes com todos aqueles descontos permitidos pela idade e…, lá fomos pela estrada que começa ganhando alguma elevação depois de deixar o Centro de Visitas, mergulhando instantaneamente nas profundezas da natureza!. 

…as such, coming from the north and we arrived at the Park Visit Center and ready to explore it, informed us that it was necessary to pay for the trip, which would be made in park!. …e era verdade!. Durante as quase cinco horas de viajem, percorremos parte dos mais de seis milhões de acres de terras selvagens, da montanha mais alta da América do Norte, com cerca de 20.310 pés, cortada ao meio apenas por uma única estrada de terra e cascalho, com mais de 100 milhas de extensão!. Parando aqui e ali, com explicações do condutor/guia, umas vezes dando prioridade aos animais para atravessar a estrada outras atravessando áreas de precipícios ou cruzando pequenos riachos, percorremos vales, montanhas grandes com neve, outras mais pequenas com lindos cenários e ovelhas Dali pastando!. Vimos ursos pardos e negros, lobos, caribus e alces, bem como águias douradas e carecas, e muitas outras formas de vida selvagem, incluindo as já mencionadas ovelhas Dali!. Valeu a pena!.

…estamos no ano de 2025!. (…it is the year 2025)!

…estamos no ano de 2025 e…, se vocês estão sentindo o impacto da inflação dos últimos anos, podem crer que não estão sozinhos!. Principalmente os idosos, tal como nós, também temos sentido e muito esse impacto!.

…it is the year 2025 and…, if you are feeling the impact of inflation in recent years, you can believe that you are not alone!. Especially the elderly, just like us, have also felt this impact a lot!. 

…presentemente, não importa em que parte do mundo se vive, a causa que esta mega-inflação tem nas nossas vidas cremos que se iniciou nas interrupções da cadeia de suprimentos causadas pela pandemia, que tornaram mais difícil e mais caro obter produtos nas prateleiras dos super-mercados, tal como o aumento dos custos de produção, desde matérias-primas até à mão-de-obra, e claro…, quem paga é o consumidor!.

…é uma situação frustrante, mas entender as razões por trás destes aumentos de preços, a nós, e repetimos já idosos, que normalmente vivemos do que amealhámos enquanto estávamos no mercado de trabalho e duma reforma onde o governo nunca acompanhou esta inflação constante, não nos pode ajudar a navegar nestes tempos desafiadores!.

…e terminamos dizendo que o momento que hoje se vive, é uma questão complexa que requer uma abordagem cuidadosa, porque o preço da energia, particularmente petróleo, gás e electricidade, têm uma influência maciça na economia, e claro, faz aumentar o custo dos bens essenciais para se viver, e quando os custos da energia aumentam, de imediato contribui para o aumento de todos preços em geral!.

…”WOW”, a nossa dedicada esposa Isaura, foi fazer as compras da semana ao super-mercado local e chegou mesmo agora e disse: “venho “perdida”, vê lá tu que uma dúzia de ovos custou $7.65”!. (o preço já subiu outra vez).

…os vizinhos dizem: “esta não é a nossa Florida”!. (…the neighbors say: “this is not our Florida”)!.

…à medida que as temperaturas congelantes e as fortes nevascas que este ano ameaçam o sul, originou uma tempestade de neve única e que já não lembrava há muitos anos, com granizo e chuva congelante em toda a Costa do Golfo, atingindo o Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Geórgia, Carolina do Sul e Flórida, fechando aeroportos, paralisando estradas e infelizmente já causando a morte de algumas pessoas!.

…as the freezing temperatures and heavy snowfall this year threaten the South, a unique snowstorm that has not been seen in many years, with sleet and freezing rain across the entire Gulf Coast, reaching Texas, Louisiana , Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Florida, closing airports, paralyzing roads and unfortunately already causing the deaths of some people!.

…muitas áreas viram mais neve…, do que em pelo menos 130 anos!. Por exemplo, mais de 9.9 polegadas de neve foram relatados na Louisiana, numa tempestade de neve histórica e sem precedentes!. Aqui na Flórida o maior número de neve  registrado, com 9,8 polegadas de neve foi a nordeste de Pensacola, considerado um recorde histórico não apenas porque nevou, mas porque a neve mais que dobrou o recorde anterior para qualquer período de 24 horas na Flórida!.

No entanto, infelizmente a Flórida não foi o único estado atingido pela tempestade de inverno que deixou mais de 220 milhões de americanos sentindo o ar gelado!.

…some information agencies say that Florida has seen the biggest snowfall in its history and…, together with Louisiana, they have more accumulated snow than South Dakota!. …comunidades remotas em Montana!. (…remote communities in Montana)!.

…estávamos em Red Lodge, Montana e chovia!. Era nossa intenção, mais uma vez tentar viajar pela Highway 212, que é a panorâmica Beartooth Highway, no entanto, parte dela estava interdita porque o temporal causou algumas inundações mas, vagarosamente íamos prosseguindo parando aqui e ali, onde outros viajantes que se cruzavam com nós também paravam e trocávamos informação de como a estrada estava e até onde se podia chegar!.

…we were in Red Lodge, Montana and it was raining!. It was our intention, once again, to try to travel along Highway 212, which is the scenic Beartooth Highway, however, part of it was closed because the storm caused some flooding, but we slowly continued stopping here and there, where other travelers who crossed paths with We also stopped and exchanged information on how the road was and how far we could get!.

…era a famosa e panorâmica Beartooth Highway, que entra ao norte do estado de Wyoming, como tal havia que tentar prosseguir porque o cenário, mesmo com um tempo de chuva era deslumbrante!. Prosseguimos, já tínhamos entrado no estado de Wyoming e quase todos os viajantes com quem nos cruzávamos nos diziam que conseguiram chegaram até à comunidade de Cooke City, em Montana, mas daí para diante a estrada estava mesmo interdita, portanto voltavam!.

…it was the famous and panoramic Beartooth Highway, which enters the north of the state of Wyoming, so we had to try to continue because the scenery, even in rainy weather, was stunning! We continued, we had already entered the state of Wyoming and almost all the travelers we met told us that they had managed to reach the community of Cooke City, in Montana, but from then on the road was closed, so they returned!

…nós tentámos fazer o mesmo, como tal prosseguimos, seguindo para oeste/norte entrando de novo em Montana, chegando à já mencionada comunidade de Cooke City, que nos pareceu um local muito pitoresco e o cenário desta estrada que serpenteia pela Floresta Nacional Shoshone e pelas montanhas, também tem história porque em algumas partes segue a rota seguida pelo “Chefe Joseph” para fora do hoje Parque Nacional de Yellowstone e para Montana, no ano de 1877, durante a sua tentativa de fugir da Cavalaria dos EUA e escapar para o Canadá!.

The famous and scenic Beartooth Highway passes through its center, leading southwest to Yellowstone National Park on a scenic route that climbs 10,947 feet (3,337 m) in elevation through the mountains and Beartooth Plateau!, to continue southeast of back to Wyoming in the Clarks Fork Yellowstone River Valley!.

…a sua localização geográfica é remota, por estar cercada por altos picos e passagens de montanhas e o único acesso rodoviário durante todo o ano é a partir da localidade de Gardiner,  Montana, que está localizada na entrada nordeste do Parque Nacional Yellowstone!. Todavia, também tem acesso rodoviário a partir de Red Lodge, Montana, (que foi seguido por nós), mas é sazonal, abrindo no final da primavera e fechando bem no início do inverno!.

…its geographical location is remote, as it is surrounded by high peaks and mountain passes and the only year-round road access is from the town of Gardiner, Montana, which is located at the northeast entrance of Yellowstone National Park!. …a despovoação em alguns territórios no ocidente era normal, porque as possíveis minas de ouro estavam geralmente localizadas em locais remotos e como tal despovoados, no entanto foi a mineração que alimentou os motores da colonização e da “civilização” no ocidente!. Assim, Cooke City era remota,  ficava a muitos dias de dolorosas caminhadas em trilhas difíceis do assentamento mais próximo, que era a hoje cidade de Bozeman, Montana!.

…só por volta de 1869-70, os primeiros mineiros começaram a descobrir ouro na área e no início desta comunidade, os lotes de terreno de esquina foram vendidos inicialmente por 20 dolares e os lotes internos por 10 dolares e por aqui havia cerca de 35 homens e uma mulher nesta nova comunidade de Cooke City, onde começaram a construir casas de toras de madeira…, onde o que hoje é a rua principal!.

…não esquecemos Homer Spit, Alaska!. (…we haven’t forgotten Homer Spit, Alaska)!.

…foi a quarta vez que visitámos “Homer Spit” porque para nós continua a ser um dos nossos lugares preferidos!. Por aqui ficamos alguns dias, dizendo sempre…, que na próxima oportunidade cá estaremos de novo, porque encontramos um maravilhoso cenário de docas com águas profundas ou rasas e as cores das mais 1.500 embarcações comerciais e de lazer!.

…it was the fourth time we visited “Homer Spit” because for us it continues to be one of our favorite places!. We stayed here for a few days, always saying… that next time we will be here again, because we found a wonderful scenery of docks with deep or shallow waters and the colors of over 1,500 commercial and leisure vessels!.

…”Homer Spit” é um fenómeno geográfico muito estranho!. O terreno circundante do continente é acidentado, mas a ponta em si não é muito mais do que um banco de areia, embora seja um banco de areia incrível que se estende por quase sete quilómetros até a Baía de Kachemak!. Ninguém sabe exatamente como se formou, seja por correntes de maré complexas ou pelo recuo de antigas geleiras!.

…”Homer Spit” is a very strange geographical phenomenon!. The terrain surrounding the mainland is rugged, but the point itself isn’t much more than a sandbar, although it is an incredible sandbar that stretches nearly seven kilometers into Kachemak Bay!. No one knows exactly how it was formed, whether by complex tidal currents or the retreat of ancient glaciers!.

…existem outras atracções adicionais, como por exemplo, o “The Nick Dudiak Fishing Lagoon”, que é um “buraco de pesca” artificial, acampamentos, hotéis e restaurantes!. O “Salty Dawg Saloon”, é provavelmente o marco mais notável de “Homer Spit”  porque o seu exterior peculiar, (um farol de madeira combinado com um galpão rústico), faz com que se destaque, mas o verdadeiro charme está no interior onde a atmosfera é verdadeiramente única, é mal iluminada, sempre movimentada, e cada centímetro das paredes e do teto está coberto de notas de dólar deixadas por visitantes de todo o mundo!.

…there are other additional attractions, such as “The Nick Dudiak Fishing Lagoon”, which is an artificial “fishing hole”, campsites, hotels and restaurants!. The “Salty Dawg Saloon”, is probably “Homer Spit’s” most notable landmark because its quirky exterior, (a wooden lighthouse combined with a rustic shed), makes it stand out, but the real charm is inside where the atmosphere is truly It’s unique, it’s dimly lit, always busy, and every inch of the walls and ceiling is covered in dollar bills left by visitors from all over the world!.

…entretanto entrámos no estado de Delaware, viajando apenas por uma pequena parte deste pequeno estado do Meio Atlântico dos EUA, que fica em uma península marcada por praias com dunas que margeiam o Oceano Atlântico, o Rio Delaware e a Baía de Delaware!.

…however, we entered the state of Delaware, traveling only through a small part of this small state in the Mid-Atlantic USA, which is located on a peninsula marked by beaches with dunes that border the Atlantic Ocean, the Delaware River and the Delaware Bay!.

…desviando-nos para norte, entrámos no estado de Pennsylvania, onde parte do seu território é montanhoso, abrangendo as regiões do Meio-Atlântico, Nordeste, Apalaches e Grandes Lagos dos USA!. A Pennsylvania desempenhou um papel vital e histórico na Revolução Americana e na busca bem-sucedida pela independência de o Império Britânico, hospedando o Primeiro e o Segundo Congresso Continental na Filadélfia que formou o Exército Continental e nomeou George Washington como seu comandante no ano de 1775, e adotou por unanimidade a Declaração de Independência no ano seguinte!.

…turning north, we enter the state of Pennsylvania, where part of its territory is mountainous, covering the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, Appalachian and Great Lakes regions of the USA!. Pennsylvania played a vital and historic role in the American Revolution and the successful quest for independence from the British Empire, hosting the First and Second Continental Congresses in Philadelphia that formed the Continental Army and named George Washington as its commander in the year 1775. , and unanimously adopted the Declaration of Independence the following year!.

…por aqui passámos a véspera de Natal, no meio da montanha de Pocono, convivendo com parte da família e vendo cair a neve que cobria o chão da floresta!.

…pela manhã e descendo a montanha, viajámos para a planície do estado de Nova Jersey, visitando e convivendo com a outra parte da família!.

…Nova Jersey é um estado do nordeste dos EUA com uma grande área de costa Atlântica!. Jersey City, do outro lado do rio Hudson, em Lower Manhattan, é o local do Liberty State Park, onde as balsas embarcam para a vizinha Ellis Island, com seu histórico Museu da Imigração e a icónica Estátua da Liberdade!. A costa de Jersey inclui cidades turísticas notáveis, como o histórico Asbury Park e Cape May, com seus edifícios vitorianos preservados!.

…New Jersey is a northeastern US state with a large area of ​​Atlantic coastline!. …na cidade de Elizabeth, onde vivemos por longos anos, quase todos os dias éramos convidados com gentileza a sairmos e ir-mos visitar amigos de longa data, todavia o tempo era pouco, mas deu para visitar o casal Natércia e Jorge, amigos de muitas dezenas de anos, confraternizando e recordando episódios de quando éramos jovens!.

…in the city of Elizabeth, where we lived for many years, almost every day we were kindly invited to go out and visit long-time friends, however time was short, but we were able to visit the couple Natércia and Jorge, friends from many decades, socializing and remembering episodes from when we were young!.

…e era tempo de regresso!. A viagem foi de alguma chuva gelada e nevoeiro, todavia, conforme íamos viajando para sul o tempo ia aquecendo, chegando à nossa casa na Florida onde sentimos alguma segurança…, um pouco livres deste mundo de pura solidão e onde o vazio enche quase tudo!.

…and it was time to return! The trip was filled with freezing rain and fog, however, as we traveled south the weather warmed up, arriving at our home in Florida where we felt some safety…, a little free from this world of pure loneliness and where emptiness fills almost everything!

“viajem das Christmas de 2024 ao norte”, (“Christmas 2024 trip to the north”)

…fomos ao norte, porque às vezes é necessário retornar à infância, ao seio da família, o único porto de abrigo e…, caminhámos na neve das montanhas de Pennsylvania, porque a experiência de vida diz-nos que nada vive para sempre, só talvez as montanhas e os rios que correm para o mar vivem até o sol se apagar…, depois tudo ficará escuro e já não haverá olhos para ver!.

…we went to the north, because sometimes it is necessary to return to childhood, to the heart of the family, the only haven of shelter and…, we walked in the snow of the mountains of Pennsylvania, because life experience tells us that nothing lives forever, only Maybe the mountains and the rivers that flow to the sea live until the sun goes out…, then everything will be dark and there will be no more eyes to see!.

…depois dum confortável e aconchegante convívio com parte da família nessas montanhas, descemos para o gelo das planícies de Nova Jersey, recebendo de novo o calor da outra parte da família, porque infelizmente o ser humano vivendo fechado ao egoísmo, só se preocupa com o seu interior, querendo fazer valer a sua vontade ao resto do mundo, não se lembrando que o calor da família, ainda é quase tudo na vida!.

…after a comfortable and cozy get-together with part of the family in these mountains, we descended to the ice of the New Jersey plains, once again receiving the warmth of the other part of the family, because unfortunately the human being, living closed to selfishness, only cares about the your inner self, wanting to assert your will to the rest of the world, not remembering that the warmth of family is still almost everything in life!.

…num breve resumo desta viajem das “Christmas de 2024 ao norte”, para lá, passámos pelo estado de Georgia, que se situa a norte do estado da Florida onde presentemente vivemos e a leste do Oceano Atlântico, ainda era madrugada, com um tráfico moderado, o que valeu à nossa dedicada esposa Isaura tirar algumas fotos ao nascer do sol!. 

…in a brief summary of this “Christmas 2024 trip to the north”, there, we passed through the state of Georgia, which is located north of the state of Florida where we currently live and east of the Atlantic Ocean, it was still dawn, with traffic moderate, which meant our dedicated wife Isaura took some photos at sunrise!. 

…entrando e de seguida entrámos no estado da Carolina do Sul, que no século passado experimentou um desenvolvimento económico significativo e onde a Interstate 95 segue por uma distância de aproximadamente 200 milhas e em algumas áreas perto ou com acesso ao Oceano Atlântico!.

…entering and then entering the state of South Carolina, which in the last century has experienced significant economic development and where Interstate 95 runs for a distance of approximately 200 miles and in some areas close to or with access to the Atlantic Ocean!.

…de seguida surge-nos a torre do ”South of the Border”, que é uma atração na Interstate 95,anunciando que entramos no estado de Carolina do Norte, onde a sua primeira evidência de ocupação humana remonta a 10.000 anos!. No entanto hoje, principalmente nas suas áreas metropolitanas, experimentou um aumento constante no crescimento populacional, criando assim um grande desenvolvimento, principalmente nos setores financeiro, bancário e de tecnologia!.

…then we see the “South of the Border” tower, which is an attraction on Interstate 95, announcing that we have entered the state of North Carolina, where the first evidence of human occupation dates back 10,000 years!. However today, especially in its metropolitan areas, it has experienced a constant increase in population growth, thus creating great development, mainly in the financial, banking and technology sectors!.

…e já era no final da tarde quando entrámos no estado da Virgínia onde pernoitámos!. Este estado, faz parte da Planície Atlântica e a Península Média forma a foz da Baía de Chesapeake, tal como a região do sopé das montanhas Blue Ridge, que atravessam as partes oeste e sudoeste do estado!. No fértil Vale do Shenandoah promove os condados agrícolas mais produtivos do estado, enquanto a economia é impulsionada por empresas de tecnologia e agências governamentais federais dos EUA e, temos também de lembrar a Hampton Roads que abriga o principal porto marítimo da região e a Estação Naval de Norfolk, a maior base naval do mundo!. 

…and it was already late afternoon when we entered the state of Virginia where we spent the night!. This state is part of the Atlantic Plain and the Middle Peninsula forms the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, as does the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, which run through the western and southwestern parts of the state!. The fertile Shenandoah Valley boasts the most productive agricultural counties in the state, while the economy is driven by technology companies and US federal government agencies, and we also have to remember Hampton Roads, which is home to the region’s main seaport and Naval Station of Norfolk, the largest naval base in the world!.

…ao outro dia, pela madrugada, atravessando a cidade de Washington, entrámos no estado de Maryland, que é um estado do Meio Atlântico definido por seus abundantes cursos de água e costas na Baía de Chesapeake e no Oceano Atlântico!. A sua maior cidade é Baltimore, (que atravessámos), tem uma longa história como importante porto marítimo!. Fort McHenry, local de nascimento do hino nacional dos EUA, fica na foz do Inner Harbor de Baltimore, onde fica o Aquário Nacional e o Centro de Ciências de Maryland!.

…the other day, at dawn, crossing the city of Washington, we entered the state of Maryland, which is a Mid-Atlantic state defined by its abundant waterways and coasts in the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean!. Its largest city is Baltimore, (which we passed through), it has a long history as an important seaport!. Fort McHenry, birthplace of the US national anthem, is at the mouth of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, home to the National Aquarium and the Maryland Science Center!.

…vamos para o Norte!. (…let’s go North)!.

…é Natal e é necessário retornar à infância, ao seio da família…, ao nosso único porto de abrigo!. Além da família, os netos precisam de nos ver, nem que seja para amplificar as suas ideias e ouvir a nossa voz, porque sabemos que também eles precisam de ser ouvidos, vistos e compreendidos!. Felizmente, ainda todos continuamos por cá e há que aproveitar o tempo, embora sabendo que já nada será como dantes mas a família…, continua a ser tudo na vida!.

…it’s Christmas and we need to return to childhood, to the heart of our family…, to our only haven!. In addition to the family, grandchildren need to see us, if only to amplify their ideas and hear our voice, because we know that they also need to be heard, seen and understood!. Fortunately, we are all still here and we have to make the most of the time, although we know that nothing will be the same as before, but family… continues to be everything in life!

Palm Coast Holiday Boat Parade!. (2024)

…é uma tradição assistir a este não muito usual evento e este ano ainda mais felizes, porque tivemos a companhia da nossa filha Sandy que vinda lá do frio do norte, para aqui viajou com o nosso neto Brian!. 

…it’s a tradition to attend this unusual event and this year it’s even happier, because we had the company of our daughter Sandy who, coming from the cold north, traveled here with our grandson Brian!. 

…fomos para lá todos em romaria, levando farnel e cadeiras, juntarmo-nos a milhares de pessoas, algumas empoleiradas nas árvores, no nosso “trail” preferido ao longo do canal de água salgada, esperando para ver o desfile de aproximadamente centena e meia de barcos iluminados que iriam navegar com musica, motivos alusivos à época de Natal e as sirenes apitando!. Wow!.

…we all went there in a pilgrimage, taking food and chairs, to join thousands of people, some perched in trees, on our favorite “trail” along the saltwater canal, waiting to see the parade of approximately one hundred and a half of illuminated boats that would sail with music, motifs alluding to the Christmas season and sirens wailing!. Wow!.

…resumindo um pouco, aconteceu no dia 15 de dezembro por volta das 18h. na nossa cidade de Palm Coast, Florida, este já tradicional e consagrado evento nocturno que é patrocinado pelo Iate Clube Palm Coast, como sendo o 41º aniversário do desfile de barcos de Natal e contou com muitas embarcações artisticamente decoradas!.

…to summarize a little, it happened on December 15th at around 6pm. In our city of Palm Coast, Florida, this already traditional and renowned night event is sponsored by the Palm Coast Yacht Club, as the 41st anniversary of the Christmas boat parade and featured many artistically decorated vessels!.

…este ano a cidade forneceu serviço de transporte gratuito entre a European Village e o estacionamento do Daytona State College Campus e o Centro Comunitário, como tal teve uma grande afluência de pessoas e, o desfile teve início na Cochise Waterway, passando sob a Hammock Dunes Toll Bridge, navegando pelo canal para sul pela St. Joe Walkway e Waterfront Park até ao mirante Grand Haven, onde fez uma curva e os barcos começaram a retornar aos seus portos de origem!.

…this year the city provided free shuttle service between European Village and the Daytona State College Campus parking lot and Community Center, so there was a large turnout of people, and the parade started at the Cochise Waterway, passing under Hammock Dunes Toll Bridge, sailing south across the canal along the St. Joe Walkway and Waterfront Park to the Grand Haven lookout, where it turned around and the boats began returning to their home ports!. 

…este maravilhoso desfile de 2024, foi realizado em homenagem à despachante do gabinete do xerife, Megan Burton que foi nomeada Despachante do Ano da Florida Sheriff Association, onde o “Reel Freedom”, um Ocean Yacht Sportfish de 46 pés, serviu como barco líder do desfile que transportava os Grand Marshalls para o desfile, o prefeito David Alfin, o xerife Rick Staly e o comissário Randy Stapleford do Distrito de Navegação Interior da Flórida, tal como a homenageada do desfile, Megan Burton!. 

…this wonderful 2024 parade was held in honor of Sheriff’s Office dispatcher Megan Burton who was named Florida Sheriff Association Dispatcher of the Year, where the “Reel Freedom”, a 46-foot Ocean Yacht Sportfish, served as the lead boat of the parade carrying the Grand Marshalls to the parade, Mayor David Alfin, Sheriff Rick Staly and Commissioner Randy Stapleford of the Florida Inland Navigation District, as well as parade honoree Megan Burton! 

…foram mais de 150 barcos bem iluminados, presenciados por milhares de espectadores, alguns, tal como acima já mencionámos, empoleirados nas árvores que por ali havia, que viram e ouviram os sons de música de Natal e os apitos das sirenes de alguns barcos que navegavam neste desfile que já se considera como o terceiro maior desfile de barcos iluminados dos Estados Unidos e…, o maior da Flórida!.

…there were more than 150 well-lit boats, witnessed by thousands of spectators, some, as we mentioned above, perched in the trees that were there, who saw and heard the sounds of Christmas music and the whistles of the sirens of some boats that sailed in this parade that is already considered the third largest illuminated boat parade in the United States and…, the largest in Florida!.
