..esta semana estamos agradavelmente surpresos com a juventude e crescimento dos nossos netos tal como a atenção que os seus pais lhe dedicam!.

..this week we are pleasantly surprised by the youth and growth of our grandchildren as well as the attention that their parents give them!.

…para nós pessoas de idade isto é…, “bom, agradável e relaxante” e.., com a ida constante deles à praia, ficando nós dentro de casa, (devido à recuperação de uma recente operação cirúrgica), estranhamente…, isto nos faz sentir um pouco “salgados”, talvez seja da água limpa, morna e cristalina das ondas do mar!.

…for us elderly people this is…, “good, pleasant and relaxing” and…, with their constant going to the beach, with us staying indoors, (due to recovering from a recent surgical operation), strangely…, this makes us feel a little “salty”, perhaps it is from the clean, warm and crystal clear water of the sea waves!.

…francamente, vivendo por aqui, às vezes sentimos falta deles e da sua presença, e claro, também nos sentimos um pouco culpados de ver a casa vazia, quando eles regressam lá, às montanhas de Pennsylvania, que é onde vivem!

…frankly, living around here, sometimes we miss them and their presence, and of course, we also feel a little guilty seeing the house empty, when they return there, to the mountains of Pennsylvania, where they live!

…mas compreendemos que é uma situação, não só nossa coma de quase todos os vizinhos da área onde vivemos, que sofrem da mesma situação que é ter a companhia da família que vem do norte, por pouco mais do que uma semana durante todo o ano, mas honestamente, temos que ser fortes o suficiente para ir-mos sobrevivendo!.

…but we understand that it is a situation, not just ours, that of almost all our neighbors in the area where we live, who suffer from the same situation, which is having the company of their family who comes from the north, for little more than a week throughout the year, but honestly, we have to be strong enough to survive!.
